PHL: Our Roots Youth Program
Our Leadership Trellis
OurRoots School Year (Philly)
OurRoots School Year in Philly is a social justice leadership after school program for low income high school students in Philadelphia, based in Furness High School. Throughout the school year, students are engaged in rigorous, hands-on leadership development activities that support students in growing emotionally and politically. Students learn about issues impacting themselves and their communities, and participate in actions and events that allow them to organize their communities while speaking truth to power. At the same time, students also develop and improve on life skills such as cooking, growing, and event planning while building long lasting relationships with peers and mentors.
